Australian Dutch Business Connect is operated by Victor Konijn who founded the business as a natural evolution of his professional activities in 2013.
Victor is a professional engineer with a passion for people and intercultural diversity. He has 30 years' experience of working with global corporations, including 14 years as independent entrepreneur, across Europe and in the USA, India, China, and Australia.
In his work Victor equips and empowers his clients to act wisely and freely on change that they desire or that is forced upon them - within a project, job, venture, organisation, relationship, or other aspect of their life. He works as a consultant, mentor, coach, facilitator, investigator, mediator, conciliator, broker, author, or speaker. In all roles he helps his clients to unravel complexities, provide clarity, bridge perspectives, and create efficient practical pathways towards sustainable outcomes. When appropriate he sources and manages independent subject matter expert consultants to accelerate delivery of client results.
Originally from The Netherlands, Victor worked for 15 years in commercial and managerial corporate roles across Europe and in the USA, India, and China before moving to Australia in 1998. In 2001 he embarked on an entrepreneurial path starting his independent business-IT consulting company Plutonic Zoo which he led till 2017. In 2013 he added several other businesses including his mentoring, coaching, facilitation, and mediation business Clarity Counts; his intercultural consultancy Australian Dutch Business Connect, and his hospitality business Ocean Views Family-friendly Short-term Accommodation.
Victor holds a Master of Science degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (MSc, MSEE, Ir) from Eindhoven University of Technology, The Netherlands. He is a certified neuroscience-based results coach, an NMAS nationally accredited Mediator, Cinergy Conflict Coach, associate certified coach (ACC) at the International Coach Federation (ICF), accredited Mental Health First Aider (MHFA), and practitioner of Compassionate Communication (or Non-Violent Communication™, NVC).
Victor is a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD), practitioner member of the Australasian Association of Dispute Resolvers (Resolution Institute), certified member of the International Coach Federation (ICF), and member of the expert network of the Australian Government's Entrepreneurs' Programme.
Victor's professionalism and enthusiasm have resulted in a large network of Dutch, Australian, and other international professional contacts. He leverages cultural and subject matter expertise from himself and his network to transform business issues into opportunities, and connect capabilities with needs.
Victor is an engaging public speaker on effective business interactions. He delivers talks at conferences and facilitates workshops.
